On arrival at the Paro Airport, you will be received by a representative of Bhutan Peak Adventure who
will take you to your hotel for overnight stay at Paro. Depending on the time of arrival you will have
the opportunity to visit the Paro Dzong, Kichu Lhakhang, or watch some locals playing archery.
This morning we will drive to the base of the famous Taktsang (Tiger's Nest) Monastry. In the
afternoon we will take a drive up to the highest motorable pass in Bhutan Chele La.

Camp Altitude: 3,600m
Today starts the trek with a drive as far as possible followed by a 5 hour walk to the
first camp.

The trek is along a gradual uphill trail which passes an army outpost. After lunch
you will be pasing through the bases of many snow peaked slopws. Overnight camp at
the base of Mount Jumolhari.
In order to help with the altitude acclimatization, a day of rest is necessary here.
The guide will provide you with many options that involve short trips to higher elevation
returning back to the base camp overnight.

Camp Altitude: 4,150m
Trek through wide yak pastures and beautiful snow clad mountains. Today is the
first high altitude pass of Nyile La at 4,890m. As you approach the Linghi basin,
the breathtaking view of the Lingshi Dzong can be seen. The Tasrim Gang mountain and
its glaciers rise up at the north end of the valley.

Camp Altitude: 3,850m
This is probably the easiest walking day of the entire trip on a wide trail with
hardly any ascents. On reaching camp, one can visit the small yak herding village
or talke a walk to the upper end of the valley.

The trek today is through wild high pastures and passes through a few sparesely
populated villages. You will be crossing the Goku La pass at an altitude of 4,440m.

An early start is required as you will be crossing Jari La pass which stands at
4,785m. After the pass descend down to Tasrijathang where hers of the national
anima, the takin, can be seen. Camp on the flet ledge above the river.

Today is the first extremely high altitude pass of Sinche Le which reaches 5,000m.

Another easy day of trekking to reach the rest point of the village of Laya.
Today you will get to explore the Laya village and meet the people. Layaps, or the
people of Laya, are welcoming and will readily post for photographs if you aspire
to have one. Their dress is very typical and the women with bamboo hats decorated with
turquoise and silver ornaments make them more special. In the evening, you get to be
part of the cultural event with local girls performing dances.

We continue following the river until the turn off point to Rohuphu. After
lunch, we pass through lush rhododendrons until we reach camp.

The trail lead most of the time through draft rhododendron bushes and barren areas
with lots of ups and down. We cross Tshomo La pass at 4,780m and desend down to
the campsite at Narithang. Yak heders are seen camping in this area during the summer
time.

We start early again today for a long stretch of trekking. First we climb to
Karchung La pass at 5,150m where we can get a splendid view of Tari Gang Mount
standing at an impressive 7,300m. Karchung is the point where the two main rivers
of Po Chhu and Mo Chhu are divided to be joined back together in Punakha.

Trek downhill through the coniferous forest following the upper ridge of the Pho Chhu
river then climb over a ridge and drop down to Woche.

The trek starts through juniper and fir forests gradually entering into rhododendrons.
Climb up to Keche La pass at 4,480. After the pass we will descend down to the
riverside walking through the village enjoying the scenic view of mountains roofing
the valley.

Camp Altitude: 4,150m
The trek continue along the bank of the river ascending gradually to
Choejung Village. Cross the bridge and after a full day of trekking we
reach Thanza.
This is our final rest day on the trek before we begin the very high altitude
part of the trip. There a few options to explore the nearby lakes and mountains.

Today is the crossing of the Jeze La pass with an altitude of 5,050m.

This is one of the highlights of the trek. The day starts with a short climb to Tshorim
Tsho walking on the side of the lake enjoying a panoramic view of Gophu La ranges. The
last climb to Gophu La pass at 5,230m is very short. After the pass descent to the base
camp, walking along the ridge to enjoy a great view of Gangkhar Puensum. If interested,
one can divert to the left side to climb up the pyramid peak for a better view or you
can go down to the base camp nearby Sha Chhu.

Camp Altitude: 4,200m
The trail further follows the Sha Chhu river and descends gradually to Geshe Woma.

Time: 9 Hours
Camp Altitude: 4,000m
The path continues along the She Chhu river for a couple of hours until a stiff climb
to Saka La begins. Visibility along the Saka La trail is poor and one must see the
top of the ridge for guidance. After having lunch nearby a yak herder's camp, you
climb up to cross Saka La pass at an altitude of 4,800m. The path then descends to a
couple of lakes another another short ascent is stunning.

Camp Altitude: 3,590m
A one hour climb leads to Juli La at 4,700m. After the pass, you descend to the
riverside through dense rhododendron, juniper and conifer forests. After the
bridge, a short climb leads to Duer Tsachu. These hot springs, where Guru
Padmasambhava is supposed to have taken bath, might be the most beautiful hot springs
of the Himalayas. You might want to spend an extra day here.

From the hot springs, it is a long and steady climb again with great views of
the mountain sin Lunana. You will also come across blue lakes and yak herder
huts.

This is the final day of the trek following the Chamkhar Chhu riveer. The trek
ends when you arrive at Duer village but we have one final night in camp.
Description of things to see in Bumthang
Today will be a very long drive to Thimphu taking at least 9 hours and perhaps
more if the road conditions are not good.
This morning we will visit the Memorial Chorten and Kuenselphodrang to view one of the
biggest status of Shakyamuni Buddha. We will also visit the the post office to see
the award winning stamps of Bhutan. In the evening we will stop by Tashiccho Dzong which
houses the office of the king and the monastic body.
In the morning we will drive to Paro to reach your flight.
