Program

  • Day 1

    Paro and drive to Thimphu

    The flight into Paro offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas, the perfect way to start your trip. Upon arrival and after completing the visa formalities, you will be greeted by our representative, who will accompany you throughout your tour. Visit the National Museum and Rimpong Dzong. Overnight in Thimphu 

  • Day 2

    Thimphu

    After breakfast, we will start the day by driving to the Mini Zoo to see the country’s most endangered animal – the Takin.  We will then do a nature hike called Wangditse hike. This easy hike is about an hour and a half through the pine forest. This hike ends at Dechenphodrang Monastery, where your vehicle will await pickup. While on this hike, you will see a glimpse of Tashichho Dzong and the Buddha Statue.  Visit the Nunnery and experience a different way of life and the serene atmosphere of the Buddhist convent. Visit Simply Bhutan, a living museum where you will see a live demonstration of Bhutan’s 13 arts and crafts. Lunch will be served here. 

    After lunch, visit the Royal Textile Museum, Craft Bazaar and Bhutan Post.  In the evening, visit Tashichho Dzong, a stunning medieval fortress.  

  • Day 3

    Day excursion to Punakha

    We will do a day trip to Punakha today. It is a 2.5-hour’ drive from Thimphu. This drive crosses the beautiful Dochula Pass, 3050m above sea level. Here, you will witness 108 monasteries and a beautiful Druk Wangyal monastery perched atop a hill. One can enjoy the most spectacular views of Bhutan’s Mountain ranges on a clear day. Visit Khamsum Yuelley Monastery, which is a 20-minute drive North of Punakha. This is an easy 45-minute hike to the beautiful monastery. After lunch, visit Punakha Dzong and walk on a suspension bridge.  Drive to Thimphu in the evening.

  • Day 4

    Paro Taktsang hike

    Drive to the trail route of Taktsang Monastery in Paro, from where you will hike to the Monastery for about three hours. After a tour of the Monastery, walk toward the cafeteria, where lunch will be served. The cafeteria is a beautiful viewpoint from which the Taktsang Monastery is visible. After lunch, hike down where the car will be waiting to take you to the hotel. On the way, visit the sacred Kyichu Lhakhang—a free evening.

  • Day 5

    Departure

    Drive to the airport where our guide will bid farewell to you on your trip back home.
