1. Introduction
Welcome to Bhutan Peak Adventure. By booking a tour with us or using our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms govern your use of our website and participation in tours organized by us in Bhutan.
2. Booking & Payment
- All bookings must be made in advance, typically at least 30 days before arrival. Luxury hotels (5-star) and bookings during festivals typically require 6 months advanced bookings.
- For typical 3-star packages, a non-refundable deposit (e.g., 25%) is required to confirm your booking with the full payment required at least 30 days before travel.
- For 5-star packages, full payment is required at the time of booking.
- Payments can be made via bank transfer or credit cards via Bhutan Payments (link will be generated when the invoice is created).
3. Visa & Entry
- All international visitors (except citizens of India, Bangladesh, and Maldives) require a Bhutan visa, which will be processed by us after payment. Alternatively visitors may process the visa directly using the portal on the Department of Immigration website.
- A Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) is charged per day and must be paid before visa issuance.
- Final approval for the visa lies with the Tourism Department of Bhutan.
4. Tour Inclusions
Our packages generally include:
- Visa arrangement
- Licensed Bhutanese guide
- Private vehicle & driver
- Accommodation (typically 3-star unless otherwise arranged)
- All Meals
- Entry fees for museums and monuments listed on the itinerary
Note: International flights, travel insurance, personal expenses, and tips are not included unless specified.
5. Cancellation & Refund Policy
- Cancellation by traveler:
- 30 days before tour: 75% refund
- 15–30 days: 50% refund
- <15 days: No refund
- Cancellation by operator: In rare events (e.g., natural disasters, political unrest), we may cancel the trip. Full refund or rescheduling will be offered.
- Change of date: Please contact us to determine but generally no charges will apply.
6. Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend that all travellers obtain comprehensive travel insurance to cover medical emergencies, trip cancellations, and baggage loss. Bhutan does not currently have many international-standard emergency facilities in remote areas.
Travellers participating in high-altitude itineraries (Snowman Trek, Laya-Gasa Trek, etc) are required to carry comprehensive travel insurance including medical evacuation.
7. Health & Fitness Requirements
Some treks and high-altitude itineraries (e.g., Snowman Trek, Laya-Gasa Trek) are physically demanding. You are responsible for ensuring you are in good health and fit to participate.
8. Changes to Itinerary
- Bhutan’s terrain and weather conditions may cause changes to the itinerary.
- We reserve the right to modify or cancel parts of the tour to ensure safety or due to unforeseen circumstances.
9. Code of Conduct
- Visitors must respect local customs, cultural sites, and Bhutanese laws.
- Drugs, tobacco, and political protests are strictly regulated in Bhutan.
- You must always be accompanied by a licensed guide during visits to monasteries and religious sites.
10. Liability
- We act as an agent for accommodations, transport providers, and government offices.
- We are not liable for injury, death, property damage, delays, or any losses incurred due to events beyond our control.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Bhutan. Any disputes will be handled under Bhutanese jurisdiction.
12. Updates to Terms
We may revise these terms without notice. The latest version will always be posted on our website. Continued use of our services implies acceptance of updated terms.
