Hidden Kingdom but not off-limits
Many people think that Bhutan is nearly impossible to visit or think that there is some strict yearly quota of tourists that prevent people from traveling. This is simply not true; visiting Bhutan is actually quite easy. Just like traveling anywhere else you can book an all inclusive tour through a tour operator or if you want to do it yourself, you can arrange the hotels directly.
There is the requirement of a daily Sustainable Development Fee (currently $100 per person per night that you stay in Bhutan) in addition to the actual tour costs which does increase the price relative to other countries in Asia.
Location
Bhutan is a small Himalayan kingdom nestled between India and China. The usual way to enter Bhutan is by using one of the two airlines Drukair or Bhutan Airlines and arrive from cities such as Bangkok, Kathmandu or Delhi. Combining trips to Bhutan with India, Nepal or Thailand is a great way to save on money and see other parts of Asia.
