Tiger’s Nest Monestary

This trip provides the traveler with a short visit to the Western Part of Bhutan.  If you are coming to Bhutan this trip will include all of the items that the visitor will have read about.    The trip takes you through a breathtaking landing at Paro International Airport, exploring the current capital city of Thimphu, the old Capital Punakha visiting Dochu-La pass along the way.  The highlight of the trip, a trek to the Tiger’s Nest Monastery, is the grand finale just before the departure.

All packages can be customized. We can easily add extra days to the end of any package that you find on this website. Removing days is usually very easy to do as long as the driving or the treking is still possible. Some of the treks have two days in a row of descent and sometimes, if you are fit enough, we are able to skip a camp or two.

      Hi Justine.

      Our tours are private and therefore you can travel any dates that you wish. The low season for Bhutan are the months of December-February and June-August, the high season are the other months.

      From San Francisco, the cheapest way to reach Bhutan is to book a ticket on one of the Chinese Airlines (China Eastern, China Southern, EVA) to reach Bangkok. You can find flights on expedia.com from between $500 and $700 depending on the date that you travel. To reach Paro (Bhutan) from Bangkok, there are at least two flights a day on Drukair and Bhutan Airlines and the fare tends to be about $975 (unfortunately the flights into Bhutan tend to be quite expensive since there are only 2 carriers). I would recommend that you schedule 2 or 3 days in Bangkok each way so that you can also have a chance to explore that city. You would be looking at a total airfare of $1475.

      If you want to add Nepal and India to your trip you can book a “multi-city trip” on expedia.com and ask to fly SFO to Bangkok, then Delhi to SFO. I was able to find a flight on ANA for $582. Now adding Bangkok to Paro ($490), Paro to Kathmandu ($230), and Kathmandu to Delhi ($100) gives a total airfare of $1402. Keep in mind that these prices were just estimates on a couple of random days that I picked and are likely to change at any time.

      Although we can book the flights for you from SFO, it is probably much cheaper for you to book these online through Expedia or a local travel agent. We don’t have access to the same types of deep discounted fares like Expedia. We can book tickets on Drukair or Bhutan Airlines quite easily and these might would be easier to obtain through us.     Hello,
    We will arrive Kathmandu on March 13th, 2020 (12:45pm) and leaving Kathmandu on March 27th, 2020 (12:40pm).
    The plan is to visit Katmandu few days before and after a Bhutan 5-6 days cultural tour.
    We are a 64 years old couple in decent shape. Walking and some hiking is no problem.
    Please advise on the Bhutan tour and its cost. We also need transportation from/to Bangkok (round trip).

    P.S. Any tips (if possible) about Kathmandu are appreciated.
